It's spring, it's spring!

And that means... it's time to clear out the gunk accumulated over the winter (inside and out). Especially if you've been eating lots of rich foods, hibernating indoors, or feeling stagnant and sedentary at all.

The earth is coming alive and inviting us to come alive with it.

So, what are some simple ways you can engage with the spring season to encourage optimal health?

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the spring season is associated with the Kapha dosha, which encompasses the elements of earth and water. In other words, mud.

Which is sometimes what our bodies feel like in springtime, especially if we have a tendency towards congestion or sluggishness.

Working with herbs, foods and lifestyle habits can have a tremendous impact on whether we clear out the heaviness or become burdened by it.

And once we've cleared out the gunk, we can start to focus on cultivating healthy "soil" in our bodies and embodying the real magic of the spring season (eg fertility, sensuality and sexuality).

You'll hear all about all of this and more in this week's episode.

Listen to learn:

  • how we can sense the season in our bodies
  • what foods and herbs can be helpful to balance out Kapha dosa
  • which wild weeds are perfect choices for balancing out Spring
  • about spring tonics from a western herbal perspective
  • a few options for gentle spring "cleanses"
  • what to do after you clear the gunk out (hint: nourish)
  • why spring is the perfect time to re-engage your sexuality
